This project complements Ribbon Stripe Sapeli with Block Mottle Macore. Both are African species, both of the same color family but each are of a different figure type, Ribbon Stripe vs Block Mottle. Sapeli is the primary specie and the Block Mottle Macore is the secondary specie used for the trim, columns, table tops, and railings. This decision provides breaks from the repititious Ribbon Stripe pattern and frames the court room. Th Ribbon Stripe pattern draws attention to the judge while creating a traditional dignified judicial space. (Bonus: The traditional wood used to design courthouses is English Brown Oak.)
